I quietly tried it for the first time last year. It took a few days to adjust but it really wasn’t that bad. I’ve been a vegetarian for a long time so it was only eggs and dairy that I had to say “so long” to for the month. It ended up being an amazing month for a long list of reasons:
-I set a goal and achieved it.
-I felt slightly kinder to the planet.
-I had extra energy for long walks and being that it was the festive holiday season, we tried to visit as many friends and family as possible.
-As a bonus, I was able to reel in my belt-buckle a notch or three and like Oprah before me, parade around in my “skinny jeans!”
Last year I made it until January 8th. I had a bagel with cream cheese and that opened up the floodgates.
